The Importance of Having a Support Squad

Hey there! Welcome back to another episode of the podcast. In today’s episode, we’re diving into the importance of having a support squad.

Being a solopreneur can be super lonely at times, but it doesn’t have to be that way. I think finding a core support group is essential so let’s dive into why it’s so important and how to find your next biz bestie.

So first let’s start with why is it important to have a support squad in your business? In my opinion, having someone there to serve as a sounding board is non-negotiable, especially in your first year of business.

During this time, you’re likely going to go through a lot of ups and downs so having someone there to talk you down from the virtual ledge (aka wanting to throw in the towel with your business due to one bad day) is going to be a life saver.

I have a couple of biz friends who I talk to on a regular basis who just get me and honestly, I probably would have given up years ago without them.

So I am sure you’re thinking, okay that sounds amazing but where do I find these types of friendships?

Free Facebook groups – I actually found my own business bestie in a Facebook group back in 2016. Free groups have changed a lot since then so it’s not to say that this will be impossible, but it probably isn’t as easy as it used to be I would imagine.

Paid communities – I think paid communities are the best place to find your support squad. People in these types of groups are invested and like-minded people so the chances of you finding someone who you vibe with is high.

Instagram – I am a big fan of connecting with people in the DMs on Instagram and have met some amazing people here so I definitely think it’s a good place to find your next biz bestie.

Now I want to know, do you have a support squad yet? Let’s chat about it over on Instagram. Send me a DM to @jenny.suneson
