Hey hey! Welcome back to the podcast. I’m so happy you’re here. In today’s episode, we’re talking all about how to prevent your clients from missing deadlines.

Obviously, you can’t 100% control this since you can’t force your client to record episodes, however, you can definitely set the precedence from the get-go so that this doesn’t occur as frequently. Most of our clients have the best of intentions but they’re busy and sometimes forget to make time in their schedule to record.
- Outline your deadlines in your contract + welcome packet – This is important to do because it sets your expectations from the get-go and lets your client know that they need to get their assets to you in a timely manner so that you can do the job that you were contracted to do.
- If the deadline is nearing and they still haven’t submitted what you need from them, gently remind them that you need it by x date – You can follow up with your client and kindly remind your client that the deadline is approaching and you’ll need it by x date for it to be released on time. Some clients just need that gentle push to make it happen on time and aren’t trying to make your life harder.
- If the deadline passes and you still haven’t received what you need, let them know that you’re happy to help them once they’ve turned it in, however, it may result in delays since it was late – Depending on how far past your deadline they turned it in, the response will vary but usually if it’s their first time doing this, I tell them we can make it happen but this isn’t the norm so going forward we will need their episode at least 7 business days before it goes live to ensure we have enough time to bring it to life.
- If this is starting to become habitual, you can help them get on a batching schedule to avoid this from happening – Helping your clients get on a batching schedule can help create a better workflow for all parties involved. We have done this for many of our agency clients and they were super appreciative of it and really found their footing after implementing batching.
