Holiday Planning with Your Clients

Hey there! Welcome back to another episode of the podcast. I can’t believe we’re already well into October. That means that the holidays are right around the corner so if you haven’t started talking about the holiday season with your podcast clients yet, now is the time.

Some things you’ll need to discuss with your clients:

  • What your anticipated time off is for the holiday season and your team members (if applicable) and let them know well in advance
  • What their release schedule looks like for the holidays
  • If they are planning on releasing new episodes during the week of the holidays, you’ll need to let them know how far in advance you need their recorded episodes in your hands.

Now let’s dive into each of these.

What your anticipated time off is for the holiday season and your team members (if applicable)

If you haven’t told your clients when you’ll be off for the holidays, now is the time to do so. This year, I will be out of the office from December 19th through the 2nd whereas my team will be out of the office from December 23rd to January 2nd and I will be communicating that to my clients this week so that they’re prepared and have enough time to get in their episodes if they plan on releasing on the holidays.

What their release schedule looks like for the holidays

Another thing you’ll want to discuss with your clients is if they will be planning on releasing episodes during the last few weeks of the year or holding off until the New Year. At my agency, a lot of my clients will take off the last two weeks of December from releasing new episodes but there are a few who still release during that time so that’s something we need to know in advance so that my team can work ahead on episodes that will go live the week of Christmas and the week after.

If they are planning on releasing new episodes during the week of the holidays, you’ll need to let them know how far in advance you need their recorded episodes in your hands.

In your email to your clients, let them know a specific date that you need their episode by if they’re planning to release during your time out of the office.

So tell me, have you notified your clients yet of your holiday schedule? If not, are you planning on doing it soon? Let me know over on Instagram jenny.suneson. I’d love to hear from you.
